The Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Neurosciences (CAMHANS) Clinic was born out of a deep recognition at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS), Indore—that mental health and neurodevelopmental challenges in children are often overlooked, misunderstood, or identified too late.
Over the years, SAIMS OPD witnessed a growing number of children presenting with anxiety, behavioral concerns, speech delays, poor school performance, and emotional struggles. Despite the rising need, Central India lacked a dedicated, multidisciplinary center offering early diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and school collaboration under one roof.

Moved by this gap, a team of passionate specialists—including child and adolescent psychiatrists, neurologists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapist, speech and hearing therapist and physiotherapist—came together with a shared vision: To create a center that doesn’t just treat conditions but nurtures the whole child and empowers families.
CAMHANS has come into existence in the cherished memory of the mother of Dr. Vinod Bhandari, Founder of SAIMS, as a tribute to her nurturing spirit and lifelong compassion for children. What began as a clinical need evolved into a movement—to bring dignity, care, and early intervention to every child, and to ensure no parent walks this journey alone. Today, CAMHANS stands as Central India’s first comprehensive center for child and adolescent mental health—committed to compassionate, evidence-based care and inclusive progress.
